Sermon series this year at PRBC Marble Falls will include finishing our current series in Judges, then working through Philippians and Ecclesiastes, and ending the year with the start of a new series through the Gospel of John.

Some may ask why we preach through books of the Bible start to finish. This is known as expository preaching and one of the greatest expository preachers of all time, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, defined it by saying that expository preaching is “preaching which is concerned to expound the Word of God and not merely to express the ideas of the preacher, preaching which is not merely topical and intended to suit the popular palate and conditions prevailing at the moment.”

And in his book Preachers and Preaching he explained that “Preaching is theology coming through a man who is on fire.” He concluded, “The true preacher does not seek for truth in the pulpit; he is there because he has found it.”
